WAFCAT E-Newsletter Vol 93 : June 2018

May 22nd -24th ,2018: WAFCAT had a field project in Khon Khaen to provide new wheelchairs for 10 children with disabilities at home. Our staffs gave them a fitting-service by inserting cushions for seat, backseat, footrest, and adding a wooden plate (activity table) to help them sit better and longer for physical development and good health.

WAFCAT team also checked the accessibility of environment inside the house and around the community of each target. We have found that Wattana Chum-Apai or Garfield (14-year-old) needs a barrier-free toilet at home because the toilet door is too narrow and there is no toilet bowl and hand-rail, so his parents and elder sister always have to help Garfield use the toilet. He lives at 153 Moo 7, Ban Nongpuangrue, Dongmuang-Am Sub-district, Khao Suan Kwang District

WAFCAT would like to ask for your support by donating money to buy toilet construction materials, such as cement, sand, stone, flushing bowl, hand-rails and sliding-door, etc. The estimated cost is 30,000 Baht, excluding labor wage because Garfield’s father and cousins can make it by themselves, and the Special Education Center Area 9 (Khon Khaen) supports to manage the budget and construction schedule for WAFCAT.
