Grant Support by the Embassy of Japan in Thailand
“Assistive Vehicle Support for Children with Disabilities to Access Quality Wheelchair Service and Rehabilitation in Samutprakan, Thailand”
The Government of Japan has approved 1,664,100 baht for WAFCAT activity by the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project (GGP). The signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding was held on 2 December 2019 at the Embassy of Japan in Thailand. H.E.Mr. Shiro Sadoshima, Ambassador of Japan to Thailand and Mr. Suporntum Mongkolsawadi, Chairman of WAFCAT signed the Memorandum. WAFCAT is going to purchase a van and install a lift for wheelchairs. This vehicle will be used to transport wheelchair children from home to the Special Education Center of Samutprakan in order to receive early intervention and rehabilitation service before transferring to other schools in the future. This project is a co-project between WAFCAT and the Special Education Center of Samutprakan (Ms.Chanaporn Janthawan, Director) that aims to help children with disabilities get social welfare services and improve their quality of life in the society.
