                                                        Handover Ceremony of Vehicle with Wheelchair Lift for Children with Disabilities in Samutprakan

              September 9, 2020: WAFCAT with the warm cooperation of Samutprakan Special Education Center (SEC) held the handover ceremony of vehicle (van) with wheelchair lift from the Embassy of Japan in Thailand; the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project (GGP). Mr. Chartchai Uthaiphun, Provincial Governor of Samutprakan attended as the chair of ceremony. Mr. Kazuya Nashida, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from the Embassy of Japan in Thailand attended as the donor in the name of the people of Japan. There were about 100 guests from the Thai DENSO Group Companies, DENSO Worker Union Thailand, Siam DENSO & Siam Kyosan DENSO Worker Union, DENSO CSR, WAFCAT chairman and directors, as well as public officers in Samutprakan from Social Development and Human Security Office, Provincial Administration Office, Provincial Education Office, Education Service Area Offices, Sub-district Administration Office, and partners from Special Education Center from Sa Tun province, Nakhon Panom province and Pitsanulok province, parents and children with disabilities.

                     This van with wheelchair lift will be primarily used to take children with physical disabilities from home to Special Education Center of Samutprakan in order to receive early intervention and rehabilitation therapy, including wheelchair fitting, training and maintenance. The vehicle will be also activated for home visit and mobile service for many other children with disabilities who cannot come to the center but in need of similar services at home.
